All nine Branch Libraries now operate a fully computerised library management system [Horizon]  - Listowel, Tralee,  Killarney, Ballybunion, Killorglin, Kenmare, Castleisland, Cahirciveen and Dingle. Computerisation of the system was carried out between 1998 - 2002. An offline system [PC Reliance] operates on each of the 2 Mobile Libraries in the service.

Internet access and word-processing facilities are available, free of charge to the public in each Branch Library. 

At present the following online services are available to library members -

Newspapers Online [250 national & international newspapers], Encyclopaedia Britannica online

The Library Catalogue is available online and users may search for a title, check its location and lavailability. Borrowers may via a combination of their Library borrower card and an individually assigned PIN No. access their borrower file and renew items online.
